As if having the world’s best men’s volleyball team performing won’t be enough, Volleyball Australia is thrilled to announce one of Australia’s most exciting live electronic dance groups, The Potbelleez, will also be starring at next weekend’s Brazil/Volleyroos World League clash in Sydney. It’s set to be the perfect combination for the big Sydney Olympic Centre crowd; one of the world’s most exciting, most entertaining and most revered sporting teams, alongside one of Australia’s most popular live music performers. The Potbelleez have been filling dance floors throughout Australia and the world for more than a decade, with instantly recognisable singles like Don’t Hold Back and Hello both guaranteed to get blood pulsing. Don’t Hold Back was one of Australia’s biggest dance-floor fillers in 2007, reaching number 5 on the ARIA charts and recording double-platinum sales. The platinum-selling single Hello, released in 2011, further enhanced The Potbelleez reputation as one of Australia’s most loved electronic/dance acts. And the boys are no strangers to entertaining big sporting crowds, with performances at the Australian Grand Prix and the A-League football Grand Final highlights on a busy CV.

Volleyball Australia President Craig Carracher said Australian volleyball fans have shown they appreciate high-quality pre-game entertainment. “Last year we had James Blunt perform ahead of World League games in Canberra, and Bonnie Anderson in Sydney, which was a thrill for the crowds, the players, and, dare I say it, the officials,” Mr Carracher said.

The Potbelleez will perform before the Brazil-Australia World League fixtures on Saturday, June 27, and Sunday, June 28.

Tickets to matches are available from $22.
