2019 was a great year for women’s representative volleyball at SNV, with teams in Honours and Division 1 as well as five teams of Junior Women.
More details are in the season wrap from the coaches.
The SNV Women’s representative program has qualified coaches, team managers, structured training, club uniforms and a calendar of great events.
The season requires players to commit to the following:
• Weekly training
• Sydney Volleyball League (SVL) (June – September)
• Occasional weekend tournaments (March – November) are optional, but highly recommended
Most training and games throughout the season take place at Olympic Park
You can get an idea of what it’s all about by reading about 2019 below, 2020 information is coming soon!
WHAT IS SVL:
The SNV Rep Program selects teams to play in the Sydney Volleyball League against other clubs from June to September in the following divisions: Honours, Division 1 and Division 2. Games are almost always played at Sydney Olympic Park.
All players are required to be members of Volleyball NSW and Sydney North Volleyball. 2018/2019 memberships are valid until March 31st, 2019 so if you played in 2018 you should not renew yet; when you do the cost is likely to be around the same as last year which was $85. New members will need an extended Adult Platinum Membership which is $100 and valid from now until March 31st, 2020. This will be required as soon as you are selected in a team; it is not required to trial. If you are under 19 for the duration of 2019 you will only need a U19 Platinum Membership.
The fees for training and games in 2019 are $440 per player; with a $30 discount for full time students. Honours fees will be $600 per player with the same discount for students. Shorts are $30 and shirts may be personalised and purchased to keep for $50 or borrowed for the season with a bond. SNV is a registered Active Kids Provider and you will be given the opportunity to redeem your voucher when team offers are made.
TRAINING & GAMES:
Training will be held weekly at a time and location to be confirmed but is likely to be a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday evening at Olympic Park or Kings School. Games are played on Sundays so if you have church or other Sunday commitments you will not be able to participate in SVL. Training is an essential part of the program and your commitment to being there each week is expected.
