Where do you play/how are you involved with SNV?
I play in the women’s comp, Sydney Olympic Park (SOP) and the Wednesday night comp at Thornleigh Indoor Sports Stadium (TISS). I venue manage both comps.
Favourite volleyball memory?
Playing with my B grade team Nomads/Tough Bikkies at North Ryde RSL a couple of years ago, the B grade comp was full so we stepped up to A grade. Had a 6 point handicap bonus every set, every game but to our complete surprise we managed to come third! Also I played with those guys and gals for years and we pretty much made the finals every time. From memory we never lost a semi.
Best volleyball advice you’ve been given?
Run with your hands apart… Maybe it’s not the best but it’s the first one I could think of.
Your favourite thing about playing?
But playing with friends is the best part. Also being able to compete in State Cup competitions and Good Neighbour is awesome fun! I love a good volleyball weekend away
What do you do when you’re NOT playing volleyball? Your other talents?
Camping, Canyoning, cycling… Will do the Oxfam 100km walk in August, so I’m in training for that. I’m also working on my hand-standing too.
Favourite thing about SNV?
The Women’s comp! It’s a fun comp, love the women’s net and without having to devote half my life to it (aka SVL!)
