2020 SVL Season information
WHAT IS SVL:
The SNV Junior Program is selecting teams to play in the Sydney Volleyball League against other clubs from May 29/31 to September 18/20 in Under 16s (turning 15 or less in 2020) and Under 18s (turning 17 or less in 2020)
Under 18s will consist of Division 1 and Division 2 and will play on Friday nights at Olympic Park.
Under 16s will play on Sunday mornings at 8:30am at Olympic Park.
All players are required to be members of Volleyball NSW and Sydney North Volleyball.
2019/2020 memberships are valid until March 31st, 2020 so if you played in 2019 you should not renew yet. New members will need an U18 Extended Platinum Membership which is $85 and valid from now until March 31st, 2021. This will be required as soon as you are selected in a team; it is not required to trial.
The season cost for training and games in 2020 is $350 per player. There has been a price increase to cover the rising costs of court hire and also the significant increase in the cost of SVL entry. Shorts are $30 and shirts may be personalised and purchased to keep for $50 or borrowed for the season with a bond. SNV is a registered Active Kids Provider and an opportunity to redeem one voucher will be provided when team offers are emailed.
Once the Easter Show has moved out in late April, training will be held weekly at Sydney Olympic Park Sports Halls on either Tuesday or Thursday at Olympic Park from either 5 – 6:30pm or 6:30 – 8pm. During March & April there will be other training sessions & venues to be confirmed. Training is an essential part of the program and your commitment to being there each week is expected.
We highly recommend beginner and intermediate players also attend the Spikeroos Junior Development Program, run by Volleyball NSW.
You can read all about it on the Volleyball NSW website and contact them directly for more information.
Under 18s will have Division 1 and Division 2 and will play on Friday nights at Olympic Park. All teams are required to also do duty approximately every second week so the time commitment can be around 3 – 3.5 hours.
Under 16s will play on Sunday mornings at Olympic Park at 8:30am most weeks. There are 3 weeks during the season where games will be played in later time slots and duty will also be required.
