After a very successful 2016 season, SNV is now seeking Representative Program Coaches for 2017. Coaches are being sought for all men’s, women’s and junior divisions.
The purpose of a SNV coach is to provide consistent and targeted coaching to a SNV Representative Team playing in the Sydney Volleyball League. SNV is also interested in hearing from anyone keen to be a volunteer assistant coach to strengthen our coaching team and develop future coaches.
Responsibilities & duties
▌Responsibility 1 – Participate in the selection of teams and the running of team trials.
Tentatively scheduled for
- Tuesday nights, February 28, March 7th and 14th
- Thursday nights, March 2nd, 9th and 16th
▌Responsibility 2 – Plan and Instruct a weekly training session.
Training times vary based on the age level of the team but will most likely run between 6:30pm – 10pm on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday night with dates to be confirmed. The season usually starts with trials in February and March and concludes with the SVL finals in September.
▌Responsibility 3 – Attend weekly Games during the Sydney Volleyball League.
SVL runs on Sundays from May to September and games are untimed, running anytime between 8:30am – 6:00pm.
▌Responsibility 4 – Liaise with the SNV Board, Team/Program Manager and Other Coaches
Qualifications
All coaches must have NCAS accreditation at minimum Level 1. Coaches without existing NCAS Level 1 accreditation must commit to completing their accreditation within the season. A Working with Children Check will be required.

Please include any preference for team division/sex/age including more than one option where possible and an outline of any coaching experience. Honorariums will be paid based on experience & performance. A pre-season coaching meeting will be held on February 7th, 2017.
Social Training Assistant Coaches
Due to the continued success of our weekly social training SNV is seeking to provide an assistant for Lap each week. If you are interested in filling this role each Thursday (start date to be confirmed but hoping for early February), or just being part of a roster system please get in touch! An honorarium will be paid each week in exchange for your volunteered time.
